Refuge was created as a place to rest, reflect, learn, and find encouragement. Within its pages are honest personal stories, biblical exposition, Godly wisdom, calming imagery, verse art, songs, practical reflection, and helpful guidance—all pointing back to the reassurance of God’s steadfast presence and grace.
God has not asked us to face these battles alone. He works through His Word, through the care of others, and through the support and tools He provides. Even the Son of God, who had been given the Holy Spirit without measure, said, “I can of myself do nothing”.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble!” — Psalm 46:1

If you are reading this book, you may be walking through a season of struggle- perhaps for yourself, or for someone you love. Within these pages, you will find wisdom and experiences from those in our brotherhood who have walked this path before (and many who are still walking it). Their voices, alongside biblical encouragement and exposition, remind us that healing is possible, support is essential, and that struggling with mental health is not a sign of weak faith—faith can exist even in the midst of our mortal struggles. God never asks us to face these battles alone. He is “our very present help in times of trouble”, and He works through the support of others, the wisdom found in His Word, and the right tools for healing.

Refuge is not just a book; it is a resource created with heartfelt purpose to offer support. It is a place to rest, to help answer hard questions, to reflect, learn, and find encouragement. Our hope is that as you read these pages, you will be reassured of God’s steadfast presence, the guidance He offers through His Word, the support found in our community and professional care, and God’s grace that meets us exactly where we are.

So, no matter where you are right now wrestling with doubt, a weary heart, questioning, feeling lost, or supporting loved ones- our prayer is that you may discover that God’s refuge is for you, always. He joys in His relationship with you and does not waste the pain you are feeling, He is able to work within our struggles for a greater purpose—shaping us, strengthening us, and drawing us closer to Himself, even when the reasons are not immediately clear to us.

With love and prayers,
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus”
